#10 - WavSynth is Now Available!    Date:   2004-06-22 02:41:53       Posted By:   PsyTek
Well, that took longer then expected ... but the WavSynth application (source code and executables) are now available. I hope someone enjoys it, I find it great fun (especially if you have Sound Forge Studio to examine the waveforms graphically, as well as to control playback.)

As always, write me if you have questions. Cheers! PsyTek.

#9 - Site Status    Date:   2004-02-26 01:41:31       Posted By:   PsyTek
I am about to upload the WavSynth application (source code and executable packages.) But Comcast is acting up ... no connection to my source system. Maybe due to the incredible storm we've had today.

Will try again tomorrow. PsyTek.

#8 - 780 Limitation    Date:   2004-01-21 12:27:35       Posted By:   PsyTek
Its only the "Post to Forum" form that is WAY too small. The text entry box I am typing in has a good inch of space on all sides, and the frame/table that encloses it is taking up only a fraction of my screen.

Yes, the width and height should be (at least) a percentage of the page. You could save space by doing several things:

1. Move the "SumiSoft" logo below the box containing this entry text (below the "submit" and "clear" buttons.

2. Use

Name: ----------------------------------------------------

Email: ---------------------------------------------------

Subject: -------------------------------------------------

instead of

#### Name:---------------- Email:----------- ####

############ Title:-------------------- #########

I will look at the page source and see if I can provide you with something.

(HEY: It would be NICE if you could at least parse the text submissions to convert carriage returns to html, so I dont have to keep typing LessThan p GreaterThan after every other sentence.)

Cheers! PsyTek.

wow... sea blue background! so you dont like the 780 limitation on the viewable space eh? I tried to make the space a % of total usable space ( and should revisit this) but it is causing extreme complications across all the smaller viewed sites. most people view (as a standard) at 780 width.

#6 - Improve This Entry Form!!!    Date:   2004-01-20 01:38:50       Posted By:   PsyTek
OK, Mr Sumisoft ... As you can see from the image I sent you, this "page" is as barren as the frozen Arctic tundra. An entire civilization could settle the right side and lower portion of this page. Also, for some strange reason, I have more room for my short name, and less for my long email address.

Suggestion, Let your users USE the available space. And "Title" is usually called "Subject". Think "Message", not "Store Shelf Item" in a Forum!

Cheers! PsyTek

#5 - Subject Goes Here    Date:   2003-03-02 04:11:31       Posted By:   PsyTek
Much improved. (Let's see if embedded HTML works).

(How does the owner delete old messages?)

Also, in the "Post Bulletins" screen:

a. "Title" is usually called "Subject"

b. Email Address is still too short to hold "psytek@psychotechnica.org"

c. The textbox for entering the message does not grow as wide or deep as the space it is in. Lots of unused space, still.

But it is an improvement! PsyTek.

#3 - Oskisan, Give us some ROOM here!    Date:   2003-02-23 02:41:14       Posted By:   psytek
The listing of bulletins needs to expand with the page to full width, and since a person entering a message gets a WHOLE PAGE anyway, list the "name", "email" and "message title" in separate narrow lines above the text box.
